A few things before we shoot

Here’s everything you need to know!

If you are reading this, we have already talked about working together and agreed on the general direction of the shoot. Great.

This page covers the practical side, including how we prepare, what happens on the day, what you will receive and what happens with the photographs afterwards.

I care a lot about clarity. I never want you to arrive unsure about what we are creating or feel surprised by anything later.

Please read everything and ask me about anything that feels unclear.

Where the photographs go

Photography is not a weekend hobby for me. It is my work and the creative world I have built around my life.

Every shoot becomes part of a much bigger archive of photographs, videos, stories and behind the scenes moments. Together, they document beauty, freedom, confidence, sensuality and the interesting people I meet along the way.

I share my work across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Telegram, my website and Patreon. Patreon is where people support my photography and get access to more complete galleries, videos and stories.

I also run HEATWAVE Diaries, a space dedicated to photography, personal stories, freedom, nudity, creativity and all the interesting, funny and occasionally chaotic things that happen around the shoots.

This means that the photographs and videos we create are intended to be shared. They may appear in social media posts, galleries, videos, articles, Patreon posts or future HEATWAVE Diaries content.

Before the shoot

Before arranging anything, we will agree on the concept, location, outfits, mood and any boundaries that matter for the shoot, including the level of nudity when relevant.

Nothing is automatically assumed. We will be clear about what we are creating and what feels right for both of us.

We will also choose the outfits beforehand. Clothing, accessories, colours, makeup and hair all affect the final result, so it is better to make those decisions in advance.

I normally prefer simple styling and natural makeup. Depending on the concept, your hair may get messy, wet or completely soaked. The sea does not care about our plans.

During the shoot

I will guide you with posing, movement, expressions and where to place your hands or body. You do not need modelling experience or spend the week practising mysterious expressions in the mirror.

If something feels uncomfortable or unclear, tell me. Open communication makes the experience better and usually creates much stronger photographs.

Someone may also be there to record behind the scenes footage. This is often my girlfriend Wendy, although it may occasionally be a trusted friend or assistant. You will always know beforehand if anyone else will be attending.

If nobody is available to join me, my tripod becomes my assistant and I record the behind the scenes clips myself.

The behind the scenes footage helps show the real atmosphere of the shoot and may also be used in reels, stories, videos or other content connected to the project.

What you will receive

I will select and edit the strongest photographs from the shoot. I do not deliver all the unedited files.

You will receive at least 30 fully edited photographs in high resolution, along with smaller versions prepared for social media. You will also receive plenty of behind the scenes clips whenever we record them.

Everything will be delivered through a private Google Drive folder. The folder will not expire automatically, but I recommend downloading and keeping your own copy.

Delivery times can vary depending on my workload and the amount of editing required. I will keep you informed about the progress and will not disappear without communicating with you.

Sharing the photographs

You are welcome to use the edited photographs and behind the scenes clips on your website, portfolio, social media and paid platforms.

When sharing them on Instagram, I ask that you invite @that.arnold as a collaborator whenever possible. This is something we created together, so I would love for it to be presented that way.

On other platforms, please credit me clearly as the photographer.

I regularly return to older shoots to create new posts, videos, articles, archive collections and Patreon galleries. A photograph from our shoot may appear again months or even years later.

Good work deserves more than one week of life.

The creative collaboration

Unless we agree on something different beforehand, this is a creative collaboration.

You do not pay me for the shoot, and I do not pay you a modelling fee.

You receive a professionally photographed and edited gallery, along with video content you can use. I receive permission to publish and use the work as part of my photography business and creative projects.

Any different arrangement must be discussed and agreed before the shoot.

The model release

Because the photographs and videos are intended to be published, I ask everyone I photograph to sign a model release before the shoot.

The model release is simply a written agreement confirming that you are at least 18 years old, that you understand the agreed concept and that I have permission to edit, publish and use the photographs and videos as part of my work.

You will receive it digitally through SnapSign at least 12 hours before the shoot. You can open it, read it and sign it directly on your phone. There is nothing to print or scan.

You can also read an example at the bottom of this page before we arrange anything, so you already know what it contains.

Please read the final version carefully before signing it and ask me if anything is unclear.

Next step

Please complete the short form below to confirm that you have read and understood this page.

Completing the form does not replace the model release. The final release will be sent separately through SnapSign.

If you have any questions, please message me. I would rather answer one question too many than have anything feel unclear.

Looking forward to creating something together,

Arnold ✌🏻
