A few things before we shoot

If we have decided to shoot together, it is because I have seen something in you that I genuinely want to photograph. And hopefully, when you look at my work, you can already imagine yourself being part of that world.

It is also very important to me that everything feels clear before we shoot. I want us to be on the same page about what we are creating, what will happen during the shoot and how the photographs and videos may be used afterwards. There should be no surprises for either of us.

Before we get into all the practical details, I want to explain a little more about why I make these photographs, how these collaborations are possible and what I hope we can create together.

Why I make these photographs

My photographs are sexy. There is no point pretending otherwise.

Sometimes the girl in them is the cute girl next door in a bikini or lingerie. Sometimes she is topless. Sometimes she is completely naked.

But the nudity is never really the point.

I am not interested in creating photographs that feel vulgar, obvious or as though they are simply showing someone’s body. I want to create a little world around the woman in the photographs. A mood, a story and a feeling.

When someone looks at the photos, I do not want them to feel like they are looking at a model posing for a camera. I want it to feel as though they have spent the day with her.

They should feel as though they could have been there.

But they weren’t.

I want men to fall head over heels in love with her. I want other girls to look at her and wish they had a best friend like her. She should feel like the kind of person everyone wants to know, spend time with and get pulled into an adventure with.

It should be her energy that draws you in and makes her impossible to forget.

That is also why modelling experience is not the most important thing to me. You do not need to arrive knowing how to perform for the camera. I will guide you.

The best photographs normally happen when you begin to relax, move, laugh and allow your real personality to become part of what we are creating.

How these shoots are possible

Photography is not a weekend hobby for me. It is my work and the creative world I have built around my life.

The only reason I can spend my time planning, photographing and editing free shoots with the people I genuinely want to photograph is because people support my work on Patreon.

Their support gives me the freedom to choose women, locations and ideas because they excite me creatively, rather than only working with whoever can afford to pay for a photoshoot.

In return, I share more complete galleries, behind the scenes videos and the stories surrounding the shoots with the people supporting me there.

Some of the work also becomes part of HEATWAVE Diaries, my ongoing collection of photographs and stories about freedom, sensuality, summer, creativity and all the beautiful, funny and occasionally chaotic things that happen around the shoots.

The photographs and videos may also be shared through my website, social media, articles, videos, exhibitions or other future projects. Sometimes I return to an older shoot months or even years later because I see something new in it or find a different story I want to tell.

Good work deserves more than one week of life.

This is an important part of the collaboration. You receive a complete professional photoshoot and a gallery you can use without paying me. I can continue creating this work because I am able to publish it and share it with the people who make these shoots possible.

That is also why I ask everyone I photograph to sign a model release. The permission to share the work is not an unexpected condition added afterwards. It is part of the collaboration from the beginning. The release simply puts our agreement in writing and confirms that I have permission to edit, publish and use the photographs and videos we create.

Now for the practical side.

Before the shoot

Before arranging anything, we will agree on the concept, location, outfits, mood and any boundaries that matter for the shoot, including the level of nudity when relevant.

Nothing is automatically assumed. We will be clear about what we are creating and what feels right for both of us.

We will also choose the outfits beforehand. Clothing, accessories, colours, makeup and hair all affect the final result, so it is better to make those decisions in advance.

I normally prefer simple styling and natural makeup. Depending on the concept, your hair may get messy, wet or completely soaked. The sea does not care about our plans.

During the shoot

I will guide you with posing, movement, expressions and where to place your hands or body. You do not need modelling experience or spend the week practising mysterious expressions in the mirror.

The shoot should feel relaxed and collaborative. I will arrive with ideas, but I also want there to be space for unexpected moments and for your personality to become part of the photographs.

If something feels uncomfortable or unclear, tell me. Open communication makes the experience better and normally creates much stronger photographs.

Someone may also be there to record behind the scenes footage. This is often my girlfriend Wendy, although it may occasionally be a trusted friend or assistant. You will always know beforehand if anyone else will be attending.

If nobody is available to join me, my tripod becomes my assistant and I record the behind the scenes footage myself.

This content helps people feel the real atmosphere of the shoot and may be used in reels, stories, videos, Patreon posts or other content connected to the project.

What you will receive

I will select and edit the strongest photographs from the shoot. I do not deliver all the unedited files.

You will receive at least 30 fully edited photographs in high resolution, along with smaller versions prepared for social media. You will also receive plenty of behind the scenes clips whenever we record them.

Everything will be delivered through a private Google Drive folder. The folder will not expire automatically, but I recommend downloading and keeping your own copy.

Delivery times can vary depending on my workload and the amount of editing required. I will give you an estimate and keep you informed if anything takes longer than expected.

Sharing the photographs

You are welcome to use the edited photographs and behind the scenes clips on your website, portfolio, social media and paid platforms.

When sharing them on Instagram, I ask that you invite @that.arnold as a collaborator whenever possible. This is something we created together, so I would love for it to be presented that way.

On other platforms, please credit me clearly as the photographer.

The creative collaboration

Unless we agree on something different beforehand, this is a creative collaboration.

You do not pay me for the shoot, and I do not pay you a modelling fee.

You receive a professionally photographed and edited gallery, along with video content you can use. In return, I receive permission to publish and use the work as part of my photography business, Patreon, archive and creative projects.

Any different arrangement must be discussed and agreed before the shoot.

The model release

Before the shoot, I will send you the model release digitally through SnapSign. You can open it, read it and sign it directly on your phone. There is nothing to print or scan.

It confirms that you are at least 18 years old and that I have permission to edit, publish and use the photographs and videos as part of my work.

You can read an example at the bottom of this page, so you already know what the agreement looks like before we arrange anything.

Please read the final version carefully before signing it and ask me if anything is unclear. I care about being open and honest about how my work is used, and I want both of us to feel good about what we are agreeing to.
